'Agents of Mayhem' Has Heart, But You Spend Too Much Time Finding the Fun

A series of confounding design choices by the developers behind Saints Row make 'Agents of Mayhem' a hit-or-miss affair.

It’s always a shame to see a product not fulfill its full potential. While the warning sirens have been on for Agents of Mayhem for some time now, I had retained a little kernel of hope (even as someone who hasn’t finished a Saints Row game) that it would confound expectations and be a much more realised product than it apparently is.

Given the nature of some of the issues raised on Waypoint Radio (particularly around the inefficiencies of menus and needing to leave missions to dispatch people), I hope that patches address some of the problems. However, issues like the extra nine characters being optional seem less tweakable. It’s a shame.
