Really awful. The Yankees had a Japanese pitcher return to Japan rather than seek another American contract in free agency because he experienced a direct incident of racism and felt unsafe having his family here. Really sad to see talented people pushed away like this. Hope Lee continues to speak out.

American teams need to figure something out to help their foreign players in the short-term. I think it’s important to note that over 50% of players in the league are Korean, and the next most-represented country is China (16%). Players from the USA are 3rd, with less than 10% of all players.
