I found the worst video game ever made
I’m only two hours into it
I know the rule of the thread is “context-free” but… what horrible garbage is this?
Neofued.
It’s like someone on the development team asked what sort of cyberpunk game they should make and someone else said “ALL OF THEM” and that person’s favorite movie is Crash.
The anniversary of this thread was last week and I completely forgot.
Thank you all for another year of great screenshots! I’ve enjoyed the funny, strange, and genuinely awe-inspiring screenshots that this thread continues to produce. When I made this thread I thought I’d get a handful of replies not more than 1400.
Thank you again!
I hope you all have a terrific day!

Partly because you seem to be emulating it and giving it a resolution bump (though it still looks very good on PS2 to this day).
Yeah, I played it on PC with mods, but in some ways the PS2 version looks even better! The film grain effect is moody as hell and hides some of the more low res texture work.
Part that but the SH games are just very well composed. Excellent framing and great image balance. Those aspects don’t age and many games are bad at them.
I’m not big into sports generally but love sports photography and illustration, and this shot is going to go in the history books for suuuure. it’s incredible. this is only partially due to bias as a torontonian.
Yeah, absolutely! The lack of direct control over the camera can be frustrating as a game player in 2019, but it’s worth it every time you walk into a room and the camera goes into a Dutch Angle, or frames the light in the shot perfectly.
The restrained color palate also goes a long way towards creating a disquieting mood, while also allowing for brighter colors to highlight themes.
It might be that I’m just playing exemplary PS2 games, but it feels like we’ve lost so much over the years on both of these fronts. Modern games will let you miss important beats because your camera wasn’t pointed the right way. Worse still, the backswing in response to the (founded) criticism of the Xbox 360 era’s samey color palates have led us to a period where bright colors are everywhere, usually for the worse. Games like Fallout 4, Far Cry New Dawn, and God of War 2018 use color in a way that is so garish and ugly that it’s hard for me to think of a time where AAA games looked worse.
