Bottomless Pit really felt like a more refined, accesible Jenny Death and it really does get too bad of a rap for being “derivative” when really it was just building upon the style introduced in Jenny Death.

not to be That bitch but i remember when all that existed of Death Grips was the news that Zach Hill had a new project and then those 3 early demos that ended up making it on to none of the albums.
this one’s my favourite of those even tho mc ride very clearly says “faggot” in it lol
also the new gabber mix is WAY fucking good and reminds me of some of the stuff Zach did with synths on his solo works

Death Grips is a band that I always have to check out what their new shit is, even though I’m getting more and more cold on it. I love The Money Store but on most days I prefer Niggas on the Moon. I think having Bjork’s voice on the album tips the scale in its direction just barely.

Yeaaah the problem has less to do with him and more to do with the hooplah surrounding his opinions, but to be fair I honestly do believe he has done more good than bad in terms of getting the band some exposure. For instance, the whole reason I gave Death Grips a listen was because he fawned over Exmilitary

dude got lit up today after his super secret youtube channel got discovered, chickens coming home to roost
saw them in pittsburgh last night, pretty great set! I liked the laser hand visuals they had going on. bring earplugs and wear boots your shitkickers.
Seen them twice. The intensity of their live shows is out of this world.
