Destiny 2, It's Like Destiny, But With A 2 At The End [Megathread]

I had this thought yesterday! I was messing around in the farm and stumbled into the little Sentry quest. After I finished it and got my jump powers I was kind of bummed that I got that error message at several points in the map.

Especially past the soccer field where there’s a landing pad and lots of other neat things. It felt like I had a nice reward for poking around and then got my hand flicked for poking a little too much.

I have the same exact problem. It will run at 90 (or 60 capped) then down to 40 after a while, and then 30 and eventually even less. I have no idea what the problem is. I have even tried lowering my settings and nothing seems to help. I just relaunch every few hours.

I will definitely try this. This is a really crazy weird issue.

Hey folks, I sent a request to join the Red Tree Owls. I’m mainly a lurker on here, but I’m a big fan. It would be nice to clan-up with a group of empathetic, cool people and not internet jerks.

My tag is YoThatLimp#1166 and I’m on the Discord already.

Wrong thread! You want this one: Destiny 2 Waypoint Clans

Make sure to carefully read the whole first post!

Just reached level 230 with my Warlock, there’s a couple of guns I’m loving but keep getting underleveled, mostly the Sunshot and Origin Story. I know I can infuse them, but I am scared to scrap legendaries to later find out they’re secretly the best weapon in the game, and I definitely don’t want to scrap my exotic helmet even though I am already using an exotic leg armor.

For instance, I don’t like swords. I’d rather shoot than cut. But I keep finding guides that talk big game for swords.

So basically I’m scared to scrap, like a hoarder Warlock with Diogenes syndrome.

If you get your item level up in other slots, you’ll start seeing even higher level blues to feed to your main guns. It can take a while though, I swear auto rifles just phased out of existence for two days when I needed one.

Just one tip, if you haven’t been using your exotic helmet, it’s not always a bad idea to infuse it into something else. You can buy back any exotic you’ve collected (at a set power level, though I forget what that is) from the vault. So exotics are never permanently gone once you collect them once.

WhaaaAaaaaaaaaaaaa I did not know that. Very good to know!

yep! i think you rebuy them at like 200 light level but the cost of that + infusion is so marginal it really doesn’t hurt, and the light boost from an exotic infusion is really really helpful sometimes.

Here to help! Once you get to a soft power cap (around 265), the only way to raise level becomes doing milestones and exotic drops. So unless you plan on using, use those exotics for infusion fuel!

Actually it’s usually better to save exotics pre-280. Each exotic has a legendary mod in it that gives +5 power that you will lose if you infuse it into something else. The game takes into account things in your inventory when calculating the power of your rewards, so you don’t have to use it but just carry it around!

so uh… i got a faction token from a nightfall on PC just now. factions aren’t open yet. so weird!

I wasn’t in the console release but my understanding is the faction leaders weren’t actually there (only the set dressing around where they currently stand) at launch so the PC is in a weird place. We are not in the brand new version of Destiny 2, we are in the 2nd cycle (so the faction leaders have appeared, offered a period of pledges, and that period has ended, and now we wait for the second period) only with a few tweaks (like the locking of the raid for the first week while it wasn’t closed for consoles).

Basically it’s a fudge around the delayed release and we should probably expect to see a few of these edge cases turn up because most of the server code we’re connecting to probably thinks the game is running Week 7 (or whatever week it is on consoles).

In other Destiny 2 fun: finally got round to finishing off the very last unique solo content and was given a Man o’ War for my troubles.

Er, thanks for that. I’ll put it on my wall next to the identical level Tarantula that I already have and think I will always reach for in slight preference. So… ta but no thanks.

I second this! I can’t remember how much it costs to create an exotic from your collection, but I think it’s at least 10 legendary shards. You only get 5 shards for disassembling exotics, and you lose the legendary mod. If you infuse a legendary weapon into the exotic to boost its power instead, your net cost is only 1 Legendary Shard instead of 5 (or more, if it costs more to create exotics from the vault).

I got a single Dead Orbit token from Calus last weekend. shrug guess I’ll take it?

So uh

what’s the deep lore reason for the Crucible symbol being the coat of arms of the Austro-Hungarian Empire? Does Shaxx secretly long for the restoration of the house of Habsburg-Lorraine and its dominion?

the crucible symbol is actually the crossed swords, not the double eagle! the double eagle comes up as symbology in a lot of empires, not just austro-hungary, but if i had to guess what the deep lore reason was for that ornamentation then i’d say “shaxx thought it was cool”. iirc in destiny 1 there was a map set in the EDZ that shaxx picked as a crucible location purely because he thought castles were badass.
