As someone who never played Destiny 1 and just tried Destiny 2’s raid for the first time yesterday: do all Destiny raids feel like they were made by someone who used to design Mario Party mini-games that turned evil and decided to make the most frustrating activities in a video game possible?
Royal beasts are egregious, but yes, Destiny raids tend to be less about shooting aliens and more about trying to stand on special things at the perfect moment while carrying magical things.
alright here’s a systems question: i just looked at shaxx’s engram preview and it doesn’t have better devils on the list, does that mean i can’t get it from his engrams right now? do i have to wait until the reset? i might have wasted my shaxxcoin…
Yeah, I didn’t mean the preview doesn’t represent what you might get, just that it only shows a subset of the possible drops. Better Devils is from definitely from Crucible Engrams (including the clan engram from Hawthorne).
Hey all, I’ve got a couple questions to ask if that’s alright.
Does destiny 2 do that mmo armor thing where you can swap appearances with another piece of armor?
And like, is there a good guide about infusion? I don’t understand it as well as I thought I did. Like I swear I was infusing things all fine but now nothing seems to work. I’m stuck around 270 and if i’ve got it right, weekly quests are the only thing that will drop anything to help me out
The infusions are kinda it for visual transmogrification. As long as you’ve got the purple shards, you can boost the Power of lesser gear up by burning the better gear (only thing is that greens and blues have less special mods/buffs so, for example, less stats boost from armour). So as long as you like the look of a legendary and the mods/buffs on it, you can boost the Power level as high as you want assuming you’ve got a matching type.
Here’s the thing about Power: the one listed on the item is the total Power. At this ~270 area then some items have purple mods, which include +5 Power. So that exotic weapon with Power 270 may well be a 265 weapon with a +5 mod attached. So, when you infuse it, you burn the mods and only infuse the base Power (so it can boost something else but only up to 265). When you get to Power 280, you’ll be able to buy random purple mods (as well as merge blues into purples) to replenish your stocks so use any you’ve got to slot your equipped gear to try and boost towards 280. There are a few edge cases (that Coldheart exotic trace rifle is actually an auto rifle when it comes for what class of items it can infuse with) but generally it’s an ok system.
Hey, thanks a lot! that power explanation was really helpful. I was hoping to transmog young ahamkara’s spine (the tripmine exotic). I guess I’m stuck with the haunting choice of playstyle or runwaystyle
I have yet to even be able to make it to the Spire. One day. I’m good in regular Crucible but man oh man, the last time I tried Trials, we played 2 hours and not one win.
I have definitely gotten better since then. Might give it a shot again soon. Hopefully with some help from some folks from here trials gear is cool
