Instead of Timezones, would it be easier to do regions instead? I was watching one of the Giant Bomb Quick Looks and I noticed that the clan Jeff’s in was called Lincoln Force NA West.

yes that is probably a better idea since the NA vs EU is definitely not going to be even…

(NA) Central to West Coast into Asia Pacific as one console clan; (NA) East Coast, South America, Europe, and Africa as the other clan? I’m not sure how server pings will work out but that would seem to be how to split a US-heavy composition up with time zones that will hopefully work out for most. If people are up to another poll to see if that is a good split?
If the clans (at least for PSN players) were to be divided by time zones to help balance them and ensure other clan players were online around the same peak time, I would like to play with people who are generally active at typical times for:
- (NA) Central & West Coast into Asia Pacific.
- (NA) East Coast, South America, Europe, and Africa.

I was thinking more along the lines of NA East, NA West, and NA Central. And doing the same for EU and other continents.
The ping is going to be bad if I try to connect with a player in the Asia Pacific region
I think the concern there is spreading too thin. We’d like people to generally be able to find and play with people in the clan and work towards the xp goals, have people raiding at the same level or interested in the same group activities. If someone wants to deal with pings because it works for their schedule then that’s something that should be as easy as possible.
Even if you only play with people local to you, you may still want to be grouped into the largest body of players in a single clan for the group xp and bonuses. Plus for those times when the pings may not be great but it’s better than playing alone when not many people are around.
If we’re currently thinking about (due to having more than 100 PSN players wishing to be members) two console clans then we need to set a line (which people can opt into, especially stuff like shift working where you’re not usually free in your local time in the evening) and group everyone inside those groups together. I especially would not like players from outside of continental US and the EU to feel unwelcome or discouraged from joining group activities by their location or ping times.
I don’t think we would be spreading too thin considering the large number of players who want to join. Also if we split NA in to two or three clans, I still think there will be a large body of players in each one. It also helps with ping and time zones.

Hi all, Just sent a request to join PALS (technicalta). I’m just starting out and making my way slowly through Destiny 2, but would like to have a group of folks to play this game with once I reach endgame.

Hi, I’m FrozenPixel (also my Destiny/Bnet account name) and would like to join Popplio Pals [PALS]. I am one of the unfortunate PC players that are fogging up monitors staring at Destiny 2 streams while we wait. 
My first character will be a Hunter. Triple jumping into the hearts of the Forsaken on Oct. 24th.

Want to post this here again in case someone missed it. If you are on XBox we have a “club”. Just send me a message GT is avengerdalton. I’m trying to get everyone in even if you didnt get into the clan. Also assume that all conduct should apply to this club as well. I would love to hang out with some super cool waypointers.

If you’re looking for a pick up group it would probably be easiest to look on the waypoint Discord server! A few impromptu groups have been able to form over there separate from the ones I’ve been organizing.

Hello Waypoint community! I’m TMANRinzler on PSN, just submitted an application for PALS. I already believe in a community like this, as a Destiny 1 veteran and having loads of random people as raid partners, a set group of people sounds amazing. My brother is actually already a member! Hey everyone. I just sent an application for the Popplio Pals clan. I applied for the waitlist for the FatT clan but that ones looks like it’s jam packed. I’ve never been very social when it comes to games but I’d like to change that with Destiny 2. I’ve been a big Waypoint fan for a while now, and if I’m being honest, this is one of the very few communities I trust to be kind and respectful. I’m looking forward to meeting new people, and I hope to make some good friends in the process.

Oh, hi there. My PSN name is Sylvrfonic. I’m not the most social gamer. But, I dig Waypoint and I can’t imagine jumping in with a better community. I’ll be applying to Popplio as console overflow with hopes of making it to the console side.
