I don’t think your tone comes off as negative or condescending or whatever, so no worries on my end. I mean, our discussion way up thread was a big part of why I left the original demo feeling very dissatisfied and your comparison to God Eater makes me think of how I similarly disliked that demo and how this game may ultimately not be for me. I am going to be very curious how it reviews and particularly how Waypoint and this forum respond to it.
Is it Monster Hunter? And by that I mean a co-op focused game. Because they’ve been showing a lot of co-op footage and I unfortunately do not have friends that would play this with me.
The short answer is “Yes” from my read and experience. If you play the game solo, you’ll have AI companions fighting along side you. There’s also a resource called femto which, to my knowledge only functions to help you revive teammates. It actually seems more co-op focused than something like Monster Hunter. I’m in the same boat though; I doubt I could find a crew.
Apologize for all the pics. I love the customizing in this game. You can even color your new robot legs.
Going for a navy green/peach color scheme on the Arsenal.
It’s kinda impressive how good the character creator is in this game, given you spend most of your time in a mech.
These are from the demo, so no robot parts in them and my mech is pretty basic. I’m loving this game so far though! The mechs are just fun to pilot which really makes up for any shortcomings I’ve encountered so far.
I’ve tried the demo twice. I’m completely new to this genre and the demo didn’t stick back when it first came out or this week and I’m not sure exactly why.
It’s the little things that are drawing me into this game, like the preview mode where you can just pose and look at the Arsenal.
If you dual wield swords, pressing attacks at the same time makes a cross slash.
When you collect a weapon, it shows up on the wall of your “garage”.
I’m sorry, does your mech HAVE A LIGHTSABER?!
Yes!
I’ve found a few laser weapons, the guns are more pew pew than beams so far. The game has not explained lasers at all but judging from the stats theres separate bullet and laser defense.
Love how the lightsaber is treated as a light source in the photo mode.
I haven’t really found anything cool yet but ive also not played that much. I do like how these BIG shoulders I got look tho
Having a rad character creator is like 80% enough for me to fall for a game, so…hi! Here I am in this thread now!
Found a ridiculous middle launcher which I love, it’s a mountain of missles! How does my mech not topple over?
Also ran into a painful train escort mission that took me at least 7 tries. Felt like I got past it mostly by luck and my yelling at the AI partners to COVER THEIR TARGETS I CANT FIGHT EVERYONE somehow worked and they stopped flying around shooting at rocks. Escort missions are still the worst in games.

I got one!
So…it’s just me that doesn’t see any changes in their Arsenal’s appearance when equipping different parts (EDIT: parts specifically, not weapons)? Because I’ve swapped out several items that are visually distinct in the menu list, but look identical to all my starting gear on the Arsenal itself.
Did I miss something?
Haven’t had that issue myself
My mech appearance updates with new gear
Up to the B missions. Finally found a continuous beam weapon (as opposed to pew pew lasers)!
Also trying out the dual machine gun method with great results.
@Tomorrowville possily you have a “skin” enabled? I havent tried it myself but I know they exist for the mechs
(Go to Paint/Edit Arsenal and theres the option to change “skin” to prototype)
@sputnik That was it exactly! Changing out the skin magically brought everything to life.
Now I can strike a pose with everybody else.
Up to rank A missions.
Laser sword upgraded to yellow.
Still love my continuous beam blaster, even tho aiming the thing can be a disaster in chaotic battles.
Do people who have been playing this feel like it’s worth the price tag? I’ve been really interested in checking it out, but I’m curious if players feel like it has a lot of stuff to dive into or if it’s just kind of a campaign play through and then done kind of game.
So far I’ve been digging it, but I’m also playing like 6 games at the same time! It really depends on your opinion of hunter games (God Eater, MH, etc). If you find those repetitive, it’ll be a YMMV.
