How much do you really like mechs: Daemon X Machina

Do people who have been playing this feel like it’s worth the price tag? I’ve been really interested in checking it out, but I’m curious if players feel like it has a lot of stuff to dive into or if it’s just kind of a campaign play through and then done kind of game.

So far I’ve been digging it, but I’m also playing like 6 games at the same time! It really depends on your opinion of hunter games (God Eater, MH, etc). If you find those repetitive, it’ll be a YMMV.

Created the purple laser sword in the factory, look at that thing, so next level.

There’s a lot to like in this game especially if you’re into customizing game characters and mechs. Graphically I’m amazed at what they’ve pulled off on the Switch.
I’m near the end now and the last A missions have really been a slog. The last three missons have been the exact same battle 3 times with different enemy pilots and cutscenes. Enemy mechs have become bullet sponges.
So, its a mixed bag, I still love all the bones of this game but the campaign does not do it justice.

(Rerolled my character because I didnt like my head implants)
A good example of what Im talking about: there’s an elaborate character enhancement lab, with branching trees…you can get out of the mech at any time…but the campaign hardly touches it, maybe twice tops so far.

I appreciate the info. I might wait to see if there’s ever a sale on it, because the guts of it sound awesome, I just don’t know if I can swing the $60 right now. It being Nintendo, I might be waiting a long time for a price drop. Thanks!

I found this game incomprehensible first time playing the demo but diving back in and taking it slowly I came to grips with it and ended up liking it quite a bit.
Mostly I was frustrated in the UI and feeling like my aim was garbage till I realised there’s a generous auto lock system and motion assist on the camera, which made it feel much better.

I don’t think this is full price purchase for me though, there just doesn’t seem to be enough there in terms of structure, environmental variety etc. and the characters are so laughably trope-y and grating that even with jp va I think I’m gonna have a bad time if I try to follow along.

From an outsiders perspective I would pretty much need a Nier:A level of investment and payoff in story to justify it, whereas the core gameplay of Monster Hunter is more that enough to carry a mediocre story for me.

Last build before the final boss. Found a better machine gun arm so switched gun arm from left to right. Also switched in a healing module and ammo pack. So it’s kind of a bread and butter, dull but functional load-out.

I am finally getting around to playing the demo of this game (look, playing Fire Emblem until you burn yourself out takes a lot of hours) and the final demo definitely feels better than the one that released at the start of the year. That said, I am curious where folks ended up landing on this game. A lot of comments seem to suggest it might be more of a “wait until a sale” game… Is there a fun online community or anything like that to supplement the story? Any thoughts at this point would be greatly appreciated.
