I'm running a Kickstater for a late 90's-flavored arcade puzzle game! (inspired by Puzzle Fighter, Puyo Tetris, etc.)

Hey, yall! I’ve been a big Waypoint reader for a while but just stumbled on this sub-forum recently, and thought it would be a good place to spread the word about a project of mine and (hopefully) get some feedback to make it better.

Long story short, I launched a Kickstarter last week for a game called CROSSNIQ+ - a late 90’s-flavored arcade puzzle game heavily inspired by the PS1 and Dreamcast eras, as well as “y2k” visual design and aesthetic. Stuff like Jet Set Radio, Space Channel 5, Chu Chu Rocket, Wipeout, Polarium, etc. all played a huge role in the look and feel of the game. As for the gameplay, it’s kind of like a Rubik’s cube meets Bejeweled - players slide colored tiles, and make a “cross” (row meets column) to earn points and feed the timer.

The KS link is https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1113141213/crossniq. It’s only been up for a little over a week, and we’ve already crossed 50%!! I’m really hopeful that it’s gonna finish strong.

As the + implies, CROSSNIQ+ is a bigger, better version of CROSSNIQ, a free web game I released in Nov 2017. You can try that for yourself at http://www.crossniq.com if you wanna get a better idea for the game.

I’m here not only to obv tell you all about it, but to seek feedback! If you have any ideas on how to make the game better, expand on ideas that are already present or in the KS, etc., I’d love to hear them and talk about them with you. My Twitter is @MaxKriegerVG if you want news and updates about the project.

Thanks so much! Hope you enjoy it!

I’ll be good, officer, I swear! (this is like the first I’ve heard of the board and intend to be active around here in the dev parts specifically  glad you like it though!)
