I’m not sure they need a publisher? Hitman is already out and I imagine they’ll mostly just continue to sell episodic content for that game now. Why give a publisher a cut?
I’m not all that knowledgable about how these things work, so is there any chance that working independently will inhibit the scale of a potential Hitman s2? The first season was incredible, and I’ve been dreaming of a follow-up with expanded environments and mechanics. I’m confident that whatever they put out will be good, but it’d be a shame if they were restricted at all for money reasons.
Well, they need money to fund development. So I imagine it all depends on how much they make from the existing Hitman, how much they have in the bank (post-Square-Enix), etc.
If they don’t have enough money, they’ll need to find a new publisher.
