Shit, this was not what I was expecting.

I have some thoughts on this movie; I’m still a Coen Bros. fangirl despite some of their reactionary beats (which show up in an interest way in this movie). I quote “Would that it were so simple…” pretty regularly, and the scene with the priests and rabbi is legendary. But I also think this movie doesn’t really get credit for how sharp its sound design is. I still remember the sound of squeaky pants, the distant eagle shrieks, the submarine bloops. Sound effects are used frequently in this movie as jokes, which feels sort of rare these days. Shoutouts to … checks IMDb … someone? The whole sound department, I guess! You killed it!
