Hi! I might have missed it, but there doesn’t seem to be a way to get back to the main Waypoint site (waypoint.vice.com) from the forums here. Am I missing it somewhere? It would be nice to have a little button, perhaps in the top-right corner.

Great idea. I was also looking for such a button.
If I may add another suggestion: the desktop site has a great feature with the auto preview of your post in real time. But on mobile I can’t seem to even find a button to press to see a preview of my post. Would be a good addition.
You will now notice when you click the hamburger menu at the top of the page (next to your icon) that in the drop down menu at the bottom there is now a link back to the main site!
