Does it have moon gravity? Is my Pharah gonna get to orbit? I’m gonna be really disappointed if it doesn’t.

The PTR server had a separate low gravity mode, so… sort of?

Only specific sections of the map have low gravity. most of it has normal gravity

Jeff Kaplan goes over it in more detail in this video.

Remember “In space, everyone can hear Torbjorn scream” :smiling_imp:

Whilst you all have very valid points re: the healing line, doesn’t change the fact it annoys the fuck out of me

I totally get it can happen by accident, but I play on PS4 so you spamming it by accident is unlikely as unless they’ve re-mapped it’s harder to access than hitting a key.

I am super excited about gays in space with guns

There are some changes with Reaper, Roadhog, and McCree in today’s PTR update:

McCree

Deadeye
Targets now begin locking on after 0.2 seconds, instead of 0.8 seconds
Damage accumulated over the first 1.0 seconds increased from 20 to 80 (damage per second after the first 1.0 seconds is unchanged)
Developer Comment: McCree’s ultimate can deal a lot of damage if it has a lot of time to build up, but it was often too difficult to get even a small amount of damage out before being stopped or killed. These changes make it more flexible and powerful.

Reaper

The Reaping (Passive)
Removed health orbs
Now regains 20% of all damage done to heroes as health
Developer Comment: Reaper’s old healing passive was useful if you could kill a bunch of enemies in a row. But since enemies needed to be dead for it to work, it wasn’t very helpful unless the situation was already in your favor. His new passive lets him get immediate benefit from it, especially when fighting Tank heroes, which tend to be larger targets that deal lower damage.

Roadhog

Head hitbox size reduced by 20%
Scrap Gun
Bullet damage decreased by 33%
Fire rate increased by 30%
Clip size increased from 4 to 5
Developer Comment: Roadhog’s head was abnormally large compared to similarly-sized characters, so we’re reducing its size to increase his survivability. The Scrap Gun changes reduce the power of his hook combo and alternate fire burst damage potential while still keeping his DPS roughly the same.

I’m interested in trying out Reaper and McCree after the update comes out.

I can’t believe they are removing the dead souls from the battlefield. I loved that narrative aspect, that Reaper sees these glowing orbs of darkness and Mercy sees glimmers of light. I MEAN HE’S NOT REALLY REAPING ANYMORE!
Mechanics are getting in the way.

the game should show you replays of your healers whenever you mash the I need healing button so genjis watch themselves through ana’s scope as they zig-zag across the field and duck behind four walls.

yesterday a roadhog one-shotted me on my way back from the spawn. and as somebody who is starting to get a handle on reaper but has definitely died trying to drop a soul this all seems like good news.

Want to watch your highlights? Too bad there’s just footage of sweaty healers patching you up.

That reaper change is going to make Reaper a must-pick to drop some fucking tanks given how big their health pools are, jesus lord. Look out Roadhog, you fucking ult sponge!

As for spamming I need healing: unless you do it once and you’re in need of healing and you’re behind me and you somehow are not in range of a health pack, yes, it’s great. Everything else and it’s actually putting pressure on my decision making and attention.

I’m really interested to see what the changes to Reaper do to his place in the meta. He’s always been pretty balanced, and I think this is the biggest change to happen to him since the beta? Whether or not he works tends to depend on what other heroes/abilities are useful at the time (ie: he saw a lot of use before Ana’s nanoboost was nerf’d). I think this change it good though; it’ll probably make him much better at his intended role of being an anti-tank.

I am betting money that they change the health regen from 20% to 15%. 20% is a lot and Reaper does a lot of damage at close range.

Competitive Season 5 has started, so if anyone wants to do placement matches and stuff for the icons and sprays, feel free to hit me up.

The new map needs work. Attackers have quite a high advantage right now.

Also, the Reaper changes are vicious. It made Reaper a looooot harder to kill.

Knew it. They’re definitely going to tweak it before it releases in game proper. Last time they did something big like this, it fucked up a season of Comp for like 2 weeks before they rolled it back. Don’t think they’ll risk that again.

I already find Reaper hard to kill as a tank bc he just does his wraith form to get away from me so this will be…fun

there’s always this calculus in my head with character changes where I am trying to gauge how frustrating I find a character to play vs how frustrating I find them to play against. they aren’t one to one concepts so it’s more an art than a science. but like, Roadhog is not a character I am great with, although I’m starting to get a handle on it, but going up a real good roadhog is nightmarish, a sisyphean cycle of hook, die, respawn. Reaper can also be a beast to face but I think not as much as he is difficult for me to play well so on a gut level I think I am broadly in favour of, at least the direction they are going with these.

though using this metric I suppose they should also nerf my dear sweet robot baby Bastion. though I think his issue is that he can be pretty easily neutralized with half decent teamwork, but to an uncoordinated team is just so much grist for his mill.
