I’ve been mainly active on GiantBomb’s forums, but I like Waypoint’s style, both metaphorically and literally. Can’t wait to contribute what little I can 
Hey I’m another gaf refugee. Kinda sucks to see things go the way they did, but I do think it will come back and be better for it. For now, I just hope the community doesn’t get too fragmented and lost. I was just getting into the LGBTQ community after a breakup, and the community there made me feel pretty welcome. I have been on gaf for what must be 10 years or something. Oh well, with all the time I should have on my hands now, I should be able conquer the world or something lol

I’m also a part of the mass influx of former NeoGAF members. I go a bit more in depth with my experiences and thoughts on GAF here if you’re looking to read some poorly worded 2 AM hot takes on the whole ordeal. I’m sad that the forum is gone, but I’m at least happy knowing that abusers aren’t invincible, especially ones that have such a large platform as Tyler Malka.
Edit: I just realized that I should probably introduce myself, since this is an introduction thread and all. On NeoGAF I went under the name bizzarewars, and being the militant grammarian that I am, that heinous misspelling of bizarre on my part still haunts me to this very day. I’m a college student, Florida apologist, lapsed musician, anime addict, and game enthusiast. I’ve been a fan of Austin and Waypoint since his stint at Giant Bomb, but to this day I don’t think I’ll be able to forgive him for getting me back into Gunpla.
Well it’s gonna have to start.

Another ex-GAF member here. I didn’t post that much so I doubt anyone would recognize my old handle (changed it to get a bit of a reset after this whole mess). I’m an indie developer and mostly lurked the indie dev thread on GAF and was hoping of maybe finding something similar here.
Been a fan of Austin since he started at Giant Bomb so I was excited when I heard about Waypoint and it’s been nothing but a breath of fresh air so far. Heard good things about the forums so I thought I would give them a shot!
Oh you babs, have you not seen Waypoint twitter? They are restrained by none.

So overall, what kinda community and website is this. Despite the issues with EL and some mods, I really liked how the mods overall kept the discussions pretty civil, and with zero tolerance for bigoted posts.

Another former Gaffer here. When Gaf imploded on itself, I thought it was time to find a new proper home. Been a fan of Patrick’s for a long while (my favorite person from the Bombcast crew), and I enjoyed Austin’s nerdiness when he was over there. I picked up WayPoint (being my primary and currently only gaming podcast), it made sense to migrate to the forum here as I typically agree with the hosts 75% of the time. Plus the willingness to discuss politics and more controversial topics, rather than glossing over it, clicked with what I wanted from a podcast.
Here’s hoping I have the same fantastic experience here as I did with Gaf!
Former gaffer under a few names… Just nice to have a new place to post random ramblings.

Hello everyone nice to meet you all! Had a account at Gaf but never posted, used the forum as a news aggregator almost every day since I spend so much time staying and working at home (freelance graphic designer) given the the fact that I take care of a elderly family member that needs my attention basically 24/7.
Love that the Waypoint folks are so inclusive, thanks for having me and I hope to contribute more this time around. 
Also how do I get Waypoint Gold?

Hi everyone, I’m also an ex-GAF member who went by the name Gartooth there too. I’m crushed to see the site implode in a day, but I think everyone leaving the sinking ship will only benefit the community.
The community was my favorite part of the forums so it is a huge relief to see people re-uniting. I’m looking forward to discussing some Mario Odyssey here on Friday!
