Welcome!
In terms of “spicy memes,” we’re still trying to figure out where spicy came from, so if you can help solve that riddle you all the more welcome

On it. Thanks for the welcome
Yo I’m with you there on Gaf being overwhelming. For me Waypoint just has the perfect blend of features. Notifications, the ability to @ people, pace is relatively slow so I don’t feel the need to check in every 5 minutes (although I do sometimes anyways because the discourse^TM is A+). Icons so I can tell people apart. Super easy ways to track separate topics. Great stuff. Good having you here!
Hey, thanks.
Looking forward to helping ya’ll renew that trademark. You’re right too, the feature set here is really great.
Hi, everyone! I’m parsley, aka Elizabeth. She/her pronouns. I found this place back when it first started through Critical Distance and have been lurking ever since. Nice to meet you!
Hello. I missed having a place to talk about videogames (which I like to do) so here I am to do that.
I used to study literature (I was bad at it). Now I study to become a software developer (I’m bad at it). I eat a lot of lentil stew (I’m great at it).
I play games mostly on PS4. In between games at the moment but recently finished Yakuza 0, which was super.
See ya.
Hey y’all!
Matt, 29, he/him, currently sweltering in the bug hot of Central Florida.
I was all about that AOL video game message board life…my greatest hits were getting a TOS violation for calling a PS2 supporter a “lame-ass jabroni” (Dreamcast 4 life fam), and asking a skater board for advice when I wanted to get into skating because of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater. They wrecked me.
Funnily enough, I main my PS4 now (did the Yakuza -> HZD -> Nier: A game of the year sequence most recently), but I do have a Switch on order and hope to be kickin’ that soon.
I usually lurk rather than post too often (across Reddit, GAF, etc.), but the Waypoint community is so great that I definitely want to be involved where I can.
Cheers!
Hi there! They/them and excited about having a pleasant place to talk about games and all the billion other things that connect through them.
Hi I’m Dmitri, or Dima for short. I work in IT and I try to write stuff. Apart from videogames I like movies and TV, travel and food. My favorite things are usually connected to historic eras or artistic direction. You can follow me on Twitter: @JazzRoomMarxist or read my blog www.gonzo-opera.com
Hey, name’s Nicanor. I’m a reluctant computer science undergrad in Jamaica, who’s slowly transitioning into a screenwriter and set extra.
Hey everyone!
I’m Zac, also referred to as Keller quite commonly but either is fine. He/him, American (sadly), gay, and I ended up here after being a fan of Austin and Patrick since the Giant Bomb days.
I’m a graphic designer professionally, but I also do writing occasionally and write music. I play 4-5 instruments, and I’d really like to try working on a game at some point. I’d also like to meet more queer people and make more “art” stuff.
Links and things!

Heya!
I’m Chris, 21, he/him, currently in Pennsylvania but about to head back to college in upstate New York. I found this place a few months back when some other site ran an article on Permadeath and I’ve been hooked ever since.
I study literature and physics (which I’ve been told is an odd combination but are basically the same thing once you’re deep enough), and have recently managed to convince my English department to let me write an undergrad thesis on game narratives, so it could be said that I’m kinda into them.
I also write about games (and other stuff) here: https://sunsetoverithaca.wordpress.com/
I’ve always been a little intimidated by forums in general but you all seem pretty great, so I figured I’d try this one out. Excited to be a part of it!
Hey there folks, I’m Ryland but I go by Rilen since it’s how most people pronounce my name! He/him, in America, queer, living with mental illness.
I’ve done a lot of different jobs (teacher, cook, farmer) and at the moment I’m trying to learn to make games as an artistic outlet. The Idle Thumbs forums were the first community I joined and actually became active in, and that made me realize that, maybe, there were other nice people on the internet! I’ve been loving reading Waypoint’s articles and it made me excited to become part of the community. I followed Danielle here and learned about Austin!
I stream sometimes at: https://www.twitch.tv/rilengames
And am starting to put things I make at: https://hellameaty.itch.io/
Hello everyone, I’m James from Scotland. I’ve been playing games a while and lean mostly towards fighting games and action-RPGs with a half-decent loot system. I’m also the organiser of Audiogame Jam, a game jam that challenges participants to make games playable by the blind.
Hi, I’m BestTeaMaker, or BTM on the interwebs. I’m an amateur caster/organizer/statsman for two games: Splatoon 2 and upcoming RTS Tooth and Tail.
I wanted a place where I can talk about games that didn’t rely on popularity, so here I am (hopefully). You’ll probably see me wax whimsically about the competitive scenes for the communities i’m in, or just talk about interesting gaming topics.
If you’re interested in any that I’ve said above, you can follow me at https://twitter.com/BestTeaMaker, where I’ll post a ton of Splatoon 2 statistics and stuff. Currently working with a team to compile all competitive Splatoon 2 events over here: https://goo.gl/WkQoSq.
Glad to be here!
Heya, I’m Jen! She/her, ace/aro. I originally came to Waypoint following Austin and Danielle’s work. I love the vibe and the great content the whole Waypoint team has been producing!
I work in TV animation in Los Angeles. I like reading and talking about video games almost as much as I like playing them. Nice to meet you!
Hi, I’m a player of games of various kinds. The PC is my preferred platform for games of the electronic kind with my interests mostly in simulation, strategy, and RPGs.
I also play tabletop RPGs extensively, and I am an avid miniature wargamer / painter.
I blog about the latter on a regular basis, you can find my body of work on the subject here: http://littlemangsofwar.tumblr.com/
I stumbled here from Three Moves Ahead, by way of Idle Weekend. I particularly enjoy Rob and Danielle’s progressive voice on games and games culture, and I am glad to hear more of it on Waypoint Radio.
Hi, Im new. Y’all can call me Jason.
I ah like the articles on this site, and am really interested in the world behind making games. I have so many questions about video games and the creators of them so I will be asking a lot of questions.
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.
Late to the Party. Javan here. 32. Black. He/Him. Austin Walker and Patrick Klepek are the reason I’m here.
Hey, I’m video_gh0st! My pronouns are they/them. I’ve been on the Discord for awhile and I finally decided to make an effort to hang out in the forums.
