My name is Spoke (he/him/duder), and I have been thinking about joining the forum for a few months now.
Everyone at Waypoint has done such an awesome job covering things that I find really important, so I wanted to become a part of the community surrounding them versus just standing on the outside looking in.
I’m currently working on my Comp Sci undergrad and love RPGs and Interactive Media/Art.
The mod team wants to welcome our influx of new users! We ask that you check our rules and code of conduct and get in touch if you have any questions at all. I’ll personally be around for most of the weekend if there’s anything you need clarifications on.

It’s a madhouse right now. Site is back up but Stump and modbot are gone so people are going to town. All kinds of OPs that would have normally been instantly locked and demoted someone to junior are all over the place. There’s a central discord right now and others going up for smaller community threads. Don’t know if that’s something that should be linked here, but if you want a link I can shoot you a PM (I think someone posted it in the Waypoint discord actually)…

Thanks, I appreciate it. This is a welcoming place, so I will stay here. I still wish that in the days that will come, Neogaf would be salvaged somehow. It was a daily routine for me to check Neogaf for breaking news in all areas. For over 5 years of my life. Poof , gone in an instant. Had a membership for all that time, but mostly stayed silent reading threads.

The site was excellent for breaking news and good discussion and debate on gaming topics, never really went to off-topic so I can’t really comment on that, hopefully the gaming side community at the very least can be salvaged at a new forum not under a scumbag owner.
Gonna echo your sentiments. GAF was where I got a lot of breaking/developing news - gaming or otherwise. It’ll be weird if it really is gone. Even now I have this reflex to type in “neo.” But I think I can get used to it here. (Is there a dark theme tho? lol)
Hi everyone! Former GAF member here too, which feels really weird to say since I was just posting about games on there this morning, but I guess that seems to be the reality now. Still just kind of shocked, it was my homepage for years and I rarely even visit other websites. Hopefully this forum can feel like a new home for me moving forward, at least it’s nice to know there’s plenty of other GAFfers here now that are in the same boat as me.

Hi all,
I’m another former GAFer (more lurker than poster), but I don’t really want to make the post all about that. I’m a huge fan of the Waypoint team, and they seem to have fostered an open and welcoming community, and I look forward to being a part of it.
Also from GAF. I didn’t post all that often after the The Wii U Speculation Threads were over (I was on some of the Hype Train pics!) but I did visit most days when real life would allow. Sad that to see it go but I hope I start posting more here.
