Waypoint Plays: Unexplored

#1

Austin dives deep into the procedurally generated dungeons of Unexplored, where he finds a magic dagger, a Troll Matriarch, and a whole lot of poison gas. Can he recover the ancient artifact, or will the traps and monsters end his run first?

I started watching this stream yesterday.

Got about 30 minutes in before visiting the Steam store page.

I think I’m going to pull the trigger.

Thanks for the heads-up. This game looks sweet.

EDIT:

Well that didn’t take long.

Played about 2 hours tonight and I’m really enjoying the game so far.

I like the feel of the movement. Though I still am getting used to “twin stick” k/m controls.

The audio/visual design is ace. The game has a nice identity and personality.

So I’m not sure if anyone mentioned it or not, but I swear Unexplored feels like 2017’s Spelunky. I can’t put my finger on it, but it just has that same vibe of “one more go” gameplay as well as general polish levels. They play quite differently but they feel 100% cut from the same cloth.

Watched this last night after reading about unexplored and wondering what was up with it. Incredible playthrough Austin; the highs, the lows, the epic ending. Don’t have a pc but I’m inspired to download Brogue on my iPad.
