What game are you playing?

Nearly to the third act of Persona 5 (I think), and I just picked up Odin Sphere: Leifdrasir because remastering good Vanillaware games makes a lot of sense to me. PS2 couldn’t handle all these magnificent hand-painted sprites.

Stared Nier: Automata again yesterday so I can do the DLC but have been slowly making my way through Gravity Rush 2.

Been playing more Overwatch though & slowly getting better with my mains & trying to expand who I can play well with.

Plan to get to Hitman (2016) real soon.

I’m stuck with a bunch of games I keep springing back to. Playing Nier: Automata in fits, playing Stellaris so I can get into my usual 4X trance, and Overwatch sometimes when the mood takes me. Just bought Alan Wake and gonna play through the DLC of that.

Play R6:Siege a lot lately. Besides that, I bought the sequel to Chime for under four bucks on the Humble Store and I’ve lost a few hours there over the weekend.

Just finished my first Dishonored 2 playthrough, and started the original Darksiders (first time) a few days ago. I like to jump between genres, I find it really difficult to switch from one genre to another back to back (or at the same time), as the control changes screw with my muscle memory.

Would love to hear more about your experience on this thread I started.

I’m pretty sure it’ll rank in the top five of my favorite games this year. It’s just the perfect combination of style and play.

fiddling with final fantasy tactics - i’ve never played this game before. it’s a bit overwhelming at the start with a lot of things you can do with your crew but i think i’m getting my head around it.

any good hints & tips appreciated though it’s a bit dense

Started The Surge and it only took me 7 attempts in order to kick the first boss’ ass o/

Too soon to give a full opinion but so far it’s really solid and pleasant. If you’re in need for a Bloodborne-like, don’t write it off just because of Lord of the Fallen (Deck13’s previous game) people.

I started Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, i love it so far only a couple hours. Man Ubisoft made good main characters, Evie is way better than Jacob, they got the sibling feel down. Strange how they made those dumb comments about females in Unity but make a fantastic one in the next game. London is a fantastic setting and game is beautiful and the grappling hook is really fun to use. Hyped for Empire/Origins

I don’t know what to play next so if you don’t mind help me decided. http://www.strawpoll.me/12971798

Quake Champions large-scale closed beta. Having played Quake games for something like 2/3 of my life, it’s a modernization I didn’t know I wanted. It’s teaching Quake habits that you could only ever just learn through experience before, which makes for a lot of high quality deathmatches. “Champions” with abilities seems antithetical but really seems to fit. I’m pretty giddy about it but wish I could hop on a server rotating thru maps instead of just having a queue.

Prey - Closing in to the end.
Persona 5 - NG+
Horizon ZD - Will get back into after the finishing the two.

I’ve been lost in Far Cry 2 since I finally got around to trying it. And it’s incredible how such a minimal set of mechanics comes together and makes you so T E N S E. The atmosphere holds up too.
And the fire stuff is still neat, I’ve been in shoot outs and the AI accidentally burns down their own camp, it’s a great feeling.

Fire propagating like it should (or as near to as seemingly possible) is still the one of the raddest things any game has introduced to the medium. It’s genuinely a threat, a living entity that the player can bring about, but in no way control. It’s not just a prop to induce repetitive sound effects and inconsequential damage.

And seriously, the game looks good to this day.

I’m about to start a new game, and I want it to be a Souls game. Not sure which. Help?

I played DS1 up through ringing the first bell. I had to stop because I just didn’t have time to devote to it any more. I’d go back to it, but no longer have my gaming PC that I used to play it.

I have a PS4. I’m thinking of either Bloodborne or DS2/3. What I disliked most about DS1 was that there was a long feedback loop for failure. That is to say: I’d plow through a bunch of enemies, get to a boss, die, and be sent back to a campfire where I’d have to do more plowing.

Do all the Souls game have this effect, or are some better than others?

Put another way: which Souls game has the least amount of space between spawn point and a boss/challenge?

  • Dark Souls 2
  • Dark Souls 3
  • Bloodborne

Far Cry 2 is so good. I know a lot of people hate how brutal the world is, but that’s what I love about it so much. It’s a depowering experience instead of another bland power fantasy.

I really want it to come to Xbox backward compatible :frowning:

Funnily enough, I’ve been playing Far Cry 2, too! I’m playing it alongside Breath of the Wild (still picking away at it) and I keep getting stuck in ruts of only wanting to play Far Cry for a week, and then nothing but Zelda, back and forth, etc. Both very much My Kinda Games.

Borrowing my buddy’s 360, because I’m a ~generation~ behind the eight-ball, and I bought up a bunch of old games for cheap. Might dip into Dishonored or Vanquished in a couple months when I’m done with these two games.

Prey, sort of. But it was stressing me out. So I spent a few days finishing the DLC in NieR: Automata, and now I’m back playing Destiny.

I’ll get back to Prey, but I’m in a mode where I need to feel relaxed.

I finally wrapped up my (very first) platinum trophy on Horizon: Zero Dawn the other night. I loved pretty much every moment of that game.

I went immediately from that into What Remains of Edith Finch which so far has been pretty great…big change of pace, though.

I’m also playing The Flame In the Flood here and there as sort of a background title. I find myself reaching to it instead of Overwatch right now. Sometimes you just want some solitude with your repeated failures.
