The first thing you should know about me? Probably that I have scars.
I mean, literally, I have sustained two permanent scars in my life, and they are suitably pathetic. One lies above my lip and came from falling face-first into my sippy cup as a toddler, the other marks a nice crescent through my middle fingertip, arriving after cack-handedly opening a tin of cat food as a teenager. These two events are pretty representative of my general practical skills.
Outside of accidental self-harm, my dominant hobby is computer gaming. I’ve been playing games for over 30 years, which suggests terrifying things about my age that I’m not quite ready to confront just yet.
Other than that, I can act as a reasonably informed source on ancient literature (courtesy of my academic career), and social housing in the UK (courtesy of my, er, career career). So, you know, if you’ve some burning questions about the ancient Greek romances,* or about how to improve the lives of those on lower incomes in the UK,** feel free to ask!
*I recommend reading Daphnis and Chloe, then Leucippe and Clitophon
**it probably involves the tories not being in government
